- It says not to turn off your computer, and to call a number right away.
- The “technician” asks you to install a program so they can see your screen.
- They “find” problems and charge hundreds of dollars, or log into your bank while connected.
- Some say they refunded you too much and ask you to send money back.
Warning signs
- A warning with a phone number on it.
- Being told not to turn off your computer.
- Being asked to install AnyDesk, TeamViewer, UltraViewer or similar.

What to do
- Don't call. Close the web browser. If it won't close, hold down the power button until the computer turns off, then turn it back on.
- Already let them in? Turn off the computer, call your bank, and have someone you trust check the computer.
- Change your passwords from a different device.
