Scam warning
Fun Quiz Posts That Steal Answers
Fun posts and quizzes ask things like “What was your first car?”, “Where did you go to high school?” or “What's your street plus your first pet's name?” These are often the same questions banks use to check it's you. Scammers collect the answers.

The one thing to remember
Don't answer “fun” questions in public that match your security questions.
How it happens
- A cute or nostalgic post asks you to share a memory in the comments.
- Many friends answer, so it seems harmless.
- Scammers read the answers along with your name and birthday.
- They use them to reset your passwords or pretend to be you.
Warning signs
- Posts asking for first pets, first cars, schools, or maiden names.
- “Your movie star name is your first pet plus your street.”
- Quizzes that ask you to log in or allow access to your profile.
What to do
- Enjoy the post, but don't comment with real answers.
- Use made-up answers for your account security questions, and write them down somewhere safe.
- Keep your birthday and phone number private on Facebook.
