LinkedIn Job Scam

This scam revolves around applicants looking for jobs. It takes advantage of desperation and unfortunate circumstances to prey on others looking for job opportunities.

Scammers use LinkedIn accounts to pose as reputable businesses. They create job openings using LinkedIn’s Easy Apply feature. They request your email and move communication off the platform. They often use newly registered domains that mimic legitimate companies.

Red Flags:

  • A website name (domain name) that was just recently created.
  • Unusual steps in the job application process.
  • Conflicting stories and inaccuracies in communication.
  • Offers of outrageously out of market salaries / distractions.
